Auburn, KY 42206
This Victorian residence, replete with heavy gingerbread décor, was built in 1894 by Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Helm. Dr. Helm was a medical doctor in Auburn and bank president. The house is 2500-2700 square feet and is 1˝ story, with a cellar. Each room in the residence has been restored in Victorian style, complete with period furniture, and most of the floors are the original narrow oak hardwood. The rooms have 10 foot ceilings and there are operable transom windows over the doors.
Since the house was last viewed during Christmas 2004, the den in the rear of the house has been completely remodeled, and a light gray stained patio has been built, which joins the side and rear entrances. New porch railings and railings for the steps have also been installed. New landscaping was added in the fall of 2005 to the front and rear of the residence, complete with a retaining wall next to the front sidewalk. The residence received the City of Auburn Award for “Most Improved for 2006.”
The Lee family looks forward to having you visit with them on Sunday afternoon, December 3rd.
