A DREAM COME THROUGH

March 2007

Another dream has been realized at the Auburn Museum.

For 10 years now the Auburn Museum has been open for visitors, only on Sunday afternoon, with the help of volunteers. It was always a dream to have the museum open during the week and for longer hours.

Our help in bringing this to fruition came in the form of Experience Works, senior workforce solutions.

Experience Works is the Senior Community Service Employment Program. This program, funded under Title V of the Older Americans Act, helps thousands of low-income individuals, age 55 and older, move into new career areas or supplement their income.

The mission of Experience Works is to improve the lives of older people through training, community service and employment.

Because of Experience Works the Auburn Historical Society is delighted to have Frances Blackford of Auburn, who will be at the Museum starting Monday, March 19, allowing the Museum to welcome visitors from 1:00 - 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, and 1:00 - 5 p.m., on Friday and Saturday.

Ms. Blackford is well known by Auburn residents and will be a great asset to the Auburn Museum.
