The is the Auburn Academy, which later became the Auburn grade school, and the painting is from a picture taken in the 1950s. Jo Helen Havener recalls going to school there in the 1940s - where grades 1 through 6 were taught. The porch in front was an addition to the original building, but Jo Helen can still recall in her mind Rooster McCutchen (the school janitor) sitting on a chair as the kids went to school. |

Madison Westbrook a 7th grade student from Lewisburg, with several of her sketch art. She is accompanied in this picture with her mother Nancy. Madison has several pieces and this picture does not do justice to the quality of her work, when one considers that Lewisburg does not have an art teacher. |
